Lanark Golf Club is one of Scotland’s finest inland courses and our 18-hole course is regularly voted in the top 50 courses in Scotland. We are the 25th oldest golf club in the World. Our 18 hole and 9 holes courses are maintained to a high standard.
Requirements and prospects
Desired Knowledge & Skills
• A clear and effective communicator who can use a variety of communication methods to give/receive information accurately and in a timely and positive manner
• Problem solving and effective decision making
• Sound Knowledge of machinery and irrigation
• Leadership and organisational skills
• Knowledge of Health and Safety

The Golf Course is maintained to a very high standard so the role requires an individual who can apply their skills to all aspects of course management. You must be highly motivated, be passionate about your career, possess a flexible attitude and have a keen eye for detail.
Desired Qualifications
• SVQ Level in Sports Turf - Greenkeeping
• Spraying PA 1 / 2 / 6A
• Chainsaw CA 30 / 31

Trainee Green Keeper

Trainee Greenkeeper

Lanark Golf Club is one of Scotland’s finest inland courses and our 18-hole course is regularly voted in the top 50 courses in Scotland. We are the 25th oldest golf club in the World. Our 18 hole and 9 holes courses are maintained to a high standard.
A Golf Greenkeeper must be able to;
• Prepare the golf course for play which will include removing early morning dew and debris from the greens, raking bunkers, moving tee markers, cutting new holes on greens
• Prepare and use equipment and machinery to maintain and renovate all turf surfaces within the golf course, including the use of tractors, ride-on machines and specialist equipment
• Prepare ground to establish turf and plants when maintaining, renovating and constructing golf course features

Future Prospects
On successful completion of the SVQ education program the candidate will be offered a full-time greenkeeper role.
